About us

Voluntary Action South West Surrey (VASWS) is an independent charity funded by local authorities, the NHS and the Big Lottery Fund to support, develop and promote voluntary and community involvement across the boroughs of Guildford and Waverley.

What we do
VASWS offers an extensive range of free services to all voluntary groups in our area, so whether you are a very small group just starting out or an established charity we can help.

We also match people who want to volunteer with local organisations seeking volunteers through our accredited Volunteer Centres.

Why we do it
There are about 1,600 groups in South West Surrey that provide an incredible range of services, creating local job opportunities and enriching lives.  At VASWS we work with and support these organisations to ensure local people and communities continue to benefit from a thriving voluntary and community sector.

Membership of Voluntary Action South West Surrey is FREE to voluntary and community groups in Guildford and Waverley.

How we do it
VASWS’ aim is to help build and maintain a robust, healthy and diverse voluntary and community sector in South West Surrey. We are fully committed to equal opportunities and the elimination of all forms of discrimination.
